Homebound

Miron Ileana was my grandmother. She spent her last 7 years at my parents’ home in Buteni, a small village in western Romania.

In 2009, following a brain stroke, she underwent brain surgery after which remained disabled. Since then, she could not continue her life as an independent woman and she needed constant care.

My mother was the only person willing to be with her during the following years, until my grandmother died.
